I'm in Chicago as I write this. Holy cow!! What is up with the road tolls ??? Seriously, we pay for auto insurance, road taxes, and tags & registrations for your car to help pay for the roads - I don't really understand why they need an additional income of these terrible tolls!
I think they must've collected like $400 from me from like 300 locations! I'm exaggerating, but seriously, it made me hate Chicago.... Other than that, it's really cool here. I will be posting some concert reviews later.
Anyway, since I'm on my laptop, I noticed that I do have some music on here, including this fun song by Momus called "Life of an Office Worker". I don't really have internet access right now, so I'm just going to write what I can remember.
Nick Currie is Momus. I believe it's short for "Hippomomus" as he has a song called that. He wears an eyepatch, not because pirates are fashionable, but because his eye became infected with some sort of disease and lost the use of sight in his.
He's probably more famous in Japan and England than the US, but he does have followers here. I think also Le Grand Magistry Records is actually based out of Michigan, or something, but they are the one that's releasing Momus' records in the states.
Anyway, the song is from one of their free compilations, "All Done With Mirrors", and the CD also contain some other similar-sounding artists if you liked that song: Mr Wright, Shoestrings, and Louis Philippe.
I am also including "Folk Me Amadeus", because that's as "classical" that I have on my laptop. I will be doing something on Edward Elgar for my next entry because I met this woman who was classically trained (viola) and I felt kind of bad that we don't do enough classicals.
