I made a how to do advance html editing on vox entry, check it out. The post was meant for this page, but I've decided to leave that off here.
So, today's entry is on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Although they've used good music soundtracks, such as Echobelly, Curve, and Angie Hart (Frente), I'm going to just focus on their musical episode, "Once More, With Feeling". This episode showed up on the sixth season, it's probably one of the best-loved episode in the Buffyverse.
I won't give away the plot too much, but basically one of the Scooby Gang conjured up a musical demon, so Sunnydale was cursed to sing their lines... It's quite funny, actually.
The CD soundtrack was released one year later after the episode aired, it was limited to 100,000 copies. That's actually a pretty large number... and the artwork is by Adam Hughes, who seems to enjoy nothing but drawings of semi-naked women.
So, a bit of trivia, although the television show ended with the seventh season, it's "eighth season" continues on comic book form, published by Dark Horse Comics. The series is written by Joss Weldon, who is the primary writer and creator of Buffy.

[this is good] I know I posted about this myself, but I trust that y'all have seen Once More With Hobbits!, the LotR versions of all the Buffy songs.
Also, while I'm thinking about it, the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline, MA, used to do screenings of "Once More With Feeling" with audience participation, a la Rocky Horror Picture Show. I think I still have my copy of Marti Noxon's parking ticket from the one time I went to it. So very fun.
