I'm going on a little vacation tomorrow (March 23rd), I will be in the southern California area. If you want to hang out, go ahead and email me () or just text me at xxx xxx xxxx. I'm quite harmless, you can find out a little more about me at commongate as I have videos and photographs.
Anyroad, Modest Mouse released We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank on 20 March 2007. This is the first studio album featuring Johnny Marr (ex-Smiths and Healers)!
It comes in three formats: a regular CD, a Deluxe Limited Edition CD, and a Double gatefold 180-gram Vinyl. The nice thing about their record label, which is Epic (Sony BMG), is that if you order directly from them, you get five postcards, instant downloads of "Dashboard" & "We've Got Everything". The best part: if you order the vinyl, they will include a CD with the music so you can load them onto your portable player. I love that idea.
I ended up picking up the Deluxe CD for $14.99 from Best Buy, which sort of came with an extra sampler CD with "Dashboard", "Education", and "Little Motel".
The Deluxe package comes with a cardboard slipcase (gold embossed letters and balloon) and a lyric booklet. Nothing too fancy, the lyric book is nothing to write home about. No photographs of the band, just some art by David Ellis and Casey Burns. Still, I rather get this vs standard CD release.
I have not had a chance to listen to the album, but I really dig the "Dashboard" song. The video is amazing too. It's put together by Motion Theory.
