A friend of mine told me I should also include movies in this blog (seeing as I have over 1,300 DVDs), but I'm just going to keep it as music 'blog'.
I hate that word, you know, blog.
Remember that Trainspotting entry ? You see, you cannot discuss Trainspotting unless you bring up Requiem for a Dream.
RFAD is one of the most brutal - and anti-drug - movie I have ever seen. It is like a slow train wreck. It's simply awful, and when the end finally comes, you want to beat up the person who recommended this film to you.
But you'll love the film.
I could never repeatedly watch this movie. I have the same anti-repeat for American History X and that one scene in Audition. You know what I'm talking about.
So, anyroad, I think there are two soundtracks to this movie. I'll be covering the instrumental one, which is composed by Clint Mansell. They're all broken up by the four seasons (that accompanies the movie). A lot of the tracks are under 1 minute, but those are mostly transitional scenes (I mean why bother composing an epic song when all you need is 30 seconds?).
There are over 30 tracks, and I hate to say it, but some of the songs have the same patterns, like this song, "Marion Barfs" uses that familiar violins from "Hope Overtures" and "The Beginning of the End" - but it's arranged differently.
You should see this movie at least once to forever scar yourself.
PS, I love "Pi" though. And Batman Begins was the best Batman since the Tim Burton one.
