On July 24th, the 7th Street Entry will be hosting a beautiful show featuring Ced Linus, Warehouse Eyes, Devata Daun, Tall Paul, and special guest Kat.

Ced Linus will be performing the songs from his new album Autumn Sessions. This eclectic show boast music from different genres and different perspectives. You have hip hop artist alongside Alt Pop and Electronic Psychedelic. Kat has been making big noise in Duluth and is working her way into the Twin Cities music scene, while the other acts have been actively locally including national and international gigs.

The Boston synthpop band Magic Man (Alex Caplow and Sam Vanderhoop Lee) is co-headlining with The Griswolds this spring, as part of the “Hotline Spring tour”, on the strength of their debut Before The Waves.

We previously caught Magic Man on their first headlining tour and noted that they could play a much bigger venue the next time around.

The Griswolds had a busy years last year what with playing over 100 shows, celebrating the one-year anniversary of the debut LP, Be Impressive, and becoming one of the best loved new bands on the planet. This Australian pop band has toured with some of the biggest names in the scene right now including Walk The Moon, New Politics, and oh so many more.

Vancouver-based indie pop duo Rococode (Laura Smith and Andrew Braun) is kicking off their US Spring 2016 tour at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis next Tuesday.

The tour is in support of their new sophomore LP Don't Worry It Will Be Dark Soon which came out February 26th via Marquis Label Services.

Speaking about the four years it took to release that difficult second album, Braun explained, “It’s taken us longer than we would have liked to get this album ready, but in all that time we hope to have created something that is both current and will stick around for a while — certainly a tough feat in the current climate of endless musical choices.”

Rococode’s current single “Hunter Gather” was at #1 on Canada's the CBC Radio 3 Top 30.

We love The Vaccines. The UK band is currently touring in support of their latest LP English Graffiti with new single "20/20". The album debut at #2 on their native UK charts, with Pitchfork declaring it "their best record yet."

What an unbelievable pairing: The Psychedelic Furs and The Church together on one bill! We previously caught The Butler brothers in 2013 and wrote, "Richard Butler is a man who still loves his work. 30+ years on, the frontman of legendary alt-rock group The Psychedelic Furs smiled and laughed as he twirled, crouched, and led his band through a joyous 90 min. set in First Avenue’s Mainroom Tuesday night."

We're also big fans of The Church, having finally caught the Australian band earlier in March 2015 at the Cedar Cultural Center.

Comic Convention Wars continue in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

Just two weekends after the first-ever Wizard Minneapolis Comic Con, the 26th Annual MCBA SpringCon Comic Book Celebration takes place this Saturday and Sunday at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds inside the Grandstand. Hours are 10AM to 5PM both days with tickets only available at the door, and a savings if non-perishable food item(s) are brought to donate.

The friendly and longtime show (which was scheduled well in advance of Wizard’s date) is more comic book than “pop culture” oriented (i.e. no wrestlers attending) and features 100,000 square feet of dealer space and some 250 different local and national comic book creators, along with dealers from all over the United States, free panel discussions/programs, costume contests, and an art auction.

Notable comic book creator guests include Dan Jurgens, Adam Hughes, Bill Willingham, Pablo Marcos, Carlos D’Anda, Ale Garza, and many more.

GUEST CREATOR PANELS - will be running all on both days! It's a great way to get up close and personal with some of your favorite comic book creators and best of all no extra ticket is required and all SpringCon Guest Creator Panels are FREE!
