We caught Anderson East at the Chipotle Cultivate Festival (22 Aug 2015) and Varsity Theater (20 Oct 2015), and described singer Michael Anderson as “raspy voice echoed his Baptist upbringings”.

Anderson East recently previewed their song “Learning”, taken from the Southern Family (Low Country Sound/Elektra Records) compilation produced and conceived by Producer of the Year Grammy Nominee Dave Cobb.

Andrew Combs to open the show. We previously caught him with Caitlin Rose at Triple Rock Social Club (08 Apr 2013). Combs’ latest All These Dreams was released to overwhelming acclaim on Coin Records/Thirty Tigers. NPR Music’s Ann Powers praises, “The arrangements on All These Dreams have a retro quality, evoking 1970s Laurel Canyon and 1980s Austin as well as 1960s Music Row. With the singer’s sagebrush-rough but always carefully calibrated vocals at the center, the album works on one level as a history of the troubadour figure from the classic-rock era onward, with Combs as charming antihero...”

The annual A Taste of Minnesota ends on Sunday, July 5th.

As we've mentioned last year, the event moved over to the Carver County Fairgrounds in Waconia, Minnesota.... and I guess it is now the permanent home to A Taste of Minnesota.

Also, I believe you get music entertainment with your entrance ticket of $10, so it might be worth your time to check out these bands if you're heading down there.

Last year, we were able to catch Halestorm and Cinderella’s Tom Keifer, at Taste of MN (Day 3), which John wrote:

A last-minute location change was announced, and with less than a week’s notice, the festival moved west, to the Carver County Fairgrounds in Waconia. The Hard Rock lineup was saved for Day Three, headlined by up-and-comers Halestorm and Cinderella’s Tom Keifer, and from all accounts, was a well-attended success.

The W♥M family like Family of the Year, having covered their appearance in New Orleans and in Minneapolis, where John noted that the band offers "feel good vibes and melodies".

Tender Loving Empire Records just signed their first non-Portland band: The Family Crest.

The Family Crest is based out of San Francisco and features six core members and "several hundred additional members". You guessed it: they're orchestra-rock.
