Stereolab
with Fievel Is Glauque
at First Avenue
first-avenue.com
French band Stereolab has reunited for a tour. We saw them at Desert Daze 2019 and wrote, “Stereolab was as delightful as I’m sure they were in the 90’s. Laetitia swayed about the Moon stage in a multi-colored dress yelling to the crowd “Let’s ping pong now!” going right into the song off the Mars Audiac Quintet album. She kept saying cute little quips to introduce songs, such as “This is, yes, it’s a love song!” or “Are we all on an extension trip? Yes, this is the future of illusion. Fantasy.” These guys rocked out while still keeping it dreamy with a sort of sprinkling of mod 60’s pop. This upbeat set under an almost full moon was otherworldly and something that is a once in a lifetime experience. Come and Play in the Milky Night and French Disko neared the end of the show, with Lo Boob Oscillator capping it off.”
Fievel Is Glauque, featuring pianist Zach Phillips (US) and singer Ma Clément (Belgium), to open. The recently shared two singles “Go Down Softly” and “The River”. This is Fievel Is Glauque’s first US tour, so be sure to show up early to check out their rare appearance.

Amyl and The Sniffers
with Bob Vylan and The Rumours
at First Avenue

We caught Melbourne’s Amyl & the Sniffers explosive sold out show at the Fine Line Music Café in May 2022 and said, “The Australian pub punk band fun to watch, as vocalist Amy Taylor ran and bounced across the stage, never stopping or slowing down. Rounding out the rest of the band are the always shirtless drummer Bryce Wilson, guitarist Dec Martens, and bassist Fergus Romer.”
This time, the band is returning to a much bigger venue, at First Avenue’s mainroom! If you didn’t get a chance to see them in May, now is your chance to see this really fun live band.
Bob Vylan and The Rumours to open.

We last saw Iceage in May 2019 and said, “For the 2019 tour, Iceage brought on an extra rhythm guitarist (possibly Lars Greve?), leaving Rønnenfelt sole singing duties. Again, there’s a raw energy and hidden rage within Rønnenfelt’s performance.”
