Icelandic composter Ólafur Arnalds just announced five U.S. Summer tour dates. Guess what? Minneapolis is one of those dates, which means by obligation, we have to be there for Arnalds to show support! I don't know what my schedule will be like on July 17th, but I'll be sure not to miss this.
If you've never heard of Arnalds, you may have heard his music on BBC (Broadchurch) or Hollywood blockbusters (The Hunger Games and Looper).
Anyway, Arnalds will be here to promote his latest album, For Now I Am Winter, which features arrangements from Nico Muhly and vocals from Arnór Dan.
Seriously, if you live in California, New York, Minnesota, or Illinois, you need to see Arnalds on this rare 2013 appearance:

Swedish alt-rock band INVSN ("Invasion"?) just signed with Razor and Tie. Expect to see their U.S. debut album (yes, their first English language album) sometime this Fall 2013 and possibly a North American tour around the same time. The album is being mixed right now by Nick Launay (Arcade Fire, PiL, Nick Cave, Kate Bush) and Jacob Hansen (Volbeat).

There's already a band called Ra (see The Sun), this Swedish, also called RA, was formed last year by Simon Minó, Erik Blondell, Felix Mårtensson, Martin Nilsson and Anton Gustafsson.
The new band is described as sounding like a "dark 80s" (Jesus & Mary Chain, Spacemen 3) but with a touch of psychedelia.
Expect their debut 4-track EP Bloodline (available on 10" vinyl and digital) on June 12, 2013, around the same time as their public appearance with Bauhaus' Peter Murphy. Yes, we like him.

Denmark's Kissaway Trail just premiere the music video for "Nørrebro" on NYLON.
Regarding the music video, singer Thomas Fagurlund said, "Nørrebro has meant a great deal to me for the last three years of my life. I wanna show everyone all the places I've spent my time and all the people that made me who I am today."

Father Figure Records announced that they've just signed Denmark's Suns of Satan. The duo consists of Norwegian/Danish composer, singer and percussionist Kristine Bjørg and her multi-instrumentalist husband Jeppe Knudsen.
Their upcoming album Sidespring was recorded in Denmark and, strangely enough, Arizona. Apparently the couple traveled to Tucson to get recording with the local musicians in the area.
