Laura Pergolizzi, or better known as LP, headlined the Palace Theatre in St Paul on Saturday night, April 23rd. She’s currently touring in support of her new album, Churches, which already hit 2 billion streams (1 billion alone just on her smash single “Lost On You”).

Los Angeles-based, but South African born, Nick Leng opened the show. Leng is on keys and he’s joined on stage by drummer Dan Harrison… who left during songs that did not required percussion.

Songs on Leng’s set included a new song called “Spiral”, “My Mind is a Mess in the Morning” (which was a one of a double single from SOTA Records), and “Lonely Shade of Blue”.

Nick Leng’s debut album is called Lemons. A companion, live album called Lemons - Live From Drive in OC was released last year.

LP had a really nice stage setup, which included stairs in the center, a various backlit lights and stage controllable spotlights.

Proving what a great songwriter she is, LP have written songs for so many artists, including Cher, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, and Backstreet Boys, just to name a few. While this is the smart way of making a living, as a songwriter, because you get paid for the song… and you also reap the royalty pay in the future. The downside is that not everyone is going to know that it was your song, etc.

Song on LP’s set included a lot of songs from her latest Churches (SOTA Records), including the title track. Of course, the biggest hit “Lost on You” was saved as the final song on the encore.  This was the song everyone came to hear.

Pop sensation Rihanna already has a 2013 tour in the works, but the Barbadian singer has now announced another mini-tour this month in promotion of her upcoming album, Unapologetic.

Ri-Ri will be heading to seven countries in seven days for this special tour, which will begin on November 14th in London and finish at a location that has not yet been announced. The end of the tour will coincide with the release of the album.

It'll be interesting to see whether this tour and album release help distract from Rihanna's renewed relationship with Chris Brown, or if the whole thing will just bring more attention to the matter. Either way, Rihanna's going to have a lot on her plate over the next few months, what with two tours, an album release, and a new boyfriend to contend with. Fans are likely to see a lot more of her in the news between now and next year.

Rihanna has sold over 37 million albums and 146 million digital tracks worldwide, and currently holds the record for top-selling digital artist of all time. Rihanna is also one of the hottest live acts, having sold over a 300,000 tickets for her UK ‘Loud’ Tour that took place throughout Autumn 2011. Expect her biggest show yet to come with her forthcoming Diamonds World Tour in 2013:
