About Lucha Libre:
Lucha libre is a style of professional wrestling that originated in Mexico and is popular throughout Latin America. It has some similarities to American style professional wrestling, but also some distinct differences.
One of the most notable differences is the use of high-flying maneuvers and acrobatic moves in lucha libre. Wrestlers often perform elaborate flips, spins, and dives off the ropes and turnbuckles, creating an exciting and dynamic spectacle.
Another key feature of lucha libre is the use of masks, which are worn by many wrestlers as a symbol of their identity and persona. The masks are often brightly colored and intricately designed, and are considered a sacred part of lucha libre tradition.
Lucha libre matches are typically fast-paced and high-energy, with lots of crowd interaction and showmanship. Wrestlers often have unique signature moves and catchphrases, and the audience plays an important role in cheering on their favorite wrestlers and booing their rivals.
Overall, lucha libre is a vibrant and exciting form of professional wrestling that offers a unique blend of athleticism, spectacle, and tradition.

Frank Ray
frankraymusic.com
Mexican-American recording artist, Frank Ray, pays tribute to his Mexican roots with the release of his latest EP titled Raíces (Asi Se Hace).
“Releasing a country music EP in Spanish is very noteworthy because the Latin culture can be represented in a way that has not been done in the mainstream music genre for decades. I have the opportunity to bring the Latin flavor to country music fans, but also to bring country music to a whole new audience,” said Frank Ray about the significance of this EP.
What’s interesting is that Frank Ray used to be a police officer in New Mexico, but after gaining success with his songs on the Texas country charts, he decided to take his career in a different direction. He released an EP titled Different Kind of Country in 2018, and the rest is history.

RIAA

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) released their breakdown of the mid-year report, and what do you know? Latin Music is hot hot hot, muy caliente!
U.S. Latin music revenues increased 15% to a record high of $627 million after notching a pinnacle in 2022 – with streaming once again driving growth and amplifying a record average of 96 million paid subscriptions in 1H 2023 across all genres.
“U.S. Latin music revenues reached an all-time high in 2022, and the growth has continued mid-year into 2023. This has been driven by both the vitality of classic hits and chart-topping new releases that have influenced broader culture and society. This sustained passion for Latin music was at the heart of this year’s RIAA Honors, which celebrated Icon Gloria Estefan and Artist of the Year Sebastián Yatra, alongside policymakers and executives who came together to tell an All-American story about the power of diversity and new voices in music, politics and communities across the country,” says RIAA SVP, State Public Policy & Industry Relations Rafael Fernandez, Jr.
Accounting for 98% of Latin music revenues, streaming’s growth continued in the first half of 2023, with paid subscriptions reaching $431 million, and comprising more than two-thirds of total revenues. Ad-supported on-demand music streaming revenues (YouTube, the free version of Spotify, and social media platforms) comprise a larger percentage of Latin music (23%) than U.S. overall (10%), a virtually flat year-over-year $148 million reflects broader economic challenges in the advertising market.
With huge numbers and growing, you can expect Latin music will continue to grow in 2024.
