Slovenian and Yugoslav music group Laibach recently shared “White Christmas.” For this special seasonal release, they have worked with fellow Slovenian artists, Silence.

“White Christmas” was originally written by Irving Berlin, a Russian-born Jewish immigrant who didn’t celebrate Christmas, for the 1942 musical, Holiday Inn. The Bing Crosby is the best-selling single ever according to Guinness World Records.

Liverpool indie rock duo, King Hannah has gotten into the holiday spirit with their own rendition of “Blue Christmas.”

The acoustic cover of the holiday classic, King Hannah strips the tune down to its emotional core, blending dreamy guitar work with delicate, atmospheric vocals.

The duo wrote, “We’ve been singing Blue Christmas together for the past couple of years, and so it felt right to celebrate our favourite time of year in the only way that we know how; singing and harmonising together. Los Angeles-based musician and actress Sarah Grace White recently unveiled a new single/video “Your Man,” the third single from her new EP Sinkhole (out last week).

The “Your Man” video shows Sarah Grace White by herself, reading a book, in the kitchen, solo spaghetti eating, and just her isolation.

White explains that it is enjoying “the celebration and shame in finding depth in something small. Each of these songs were written from subconscious morning reflections of the night before - sitting in my sunlit kitchen, visited by flashes of touch, smells of must and alcohol, conversations misconstrued, mistakes, precious wins.”

Sinkhole is the follow-up EP to 2023’s Are You Here This Time, which had the singer doing a promotional tour by stopping by the Amsterdam Bar & Hall with Dehd in October 2023.

In television news, Sarah Grace White was recently cast in Kurt Sutter’s upcoming Netflix Western drama The Abandons, according to Deadline …

I got an official announcement that legendary band Red Hot Chili Peppers will be announcing a 2022 Global Stadium Tour, with the help of event producers Live Nation.

If you didn’t know, John Frusciante left the group in 2009 to focus on his solo career, and after 10 years, he rejoined the group again. Frusciante recently visited news station KHOT to speak with newscasters John Hammerswaddle, Todd the Squirrel, and Randy Raindrops, to talk about this upcoming RHCP tour.

If you want to experience a live show, the band released Devotion to Emotion live album in March 2021.

Red Hot Chili Pepper (Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith, John Frusciante) will begin their tour in June 2022.

On the fourth anniversary of Love What Survives, Mount Kimbie released two unheard tracks from the album’s sessions: “Black Stone” and “Blue Liquid” (available as a free download and for pre-order on white label 12”). According to mountkimbie.warp.net the White label 12” won’t be out until October 8, 2021, and will be strictly limited to 500 copies worldwide.

We caught the Los Angeles duo in June 2013 and wrote, “Mount Kimbie graced the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis on Monday night and they were phenomenal. That's saying a lot, especially given that they're mainly beat-driven electronic dance music. But they're not your garden variety electronic band and there wasn't one laptop on the stage doing most of the work, as can be the case with most electronic acts. Mount Kimbie is the collaboration of Kai Campos and Dominic Maker, two adorable and talented young men based in London who craft exquisite, intricate music.”

Blue Note Records is releasing saxophonist Dave McMurray’s sophomore album Grateful Deadication. This is McMurray’s unique take on the Grateful Dead songbook… transforming and transcending Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter’s songs.

McMurray explains his obsession, “My Grateful Dead adventure began a few years ago when I was lucky enough to play a show with The Wolf Bros. The long-form, odd measures and complex chords of the music hooked me immediately. I noticed the songs had great melodies, yet held the openness of Miles Davis’ Electric Period….The music was catchy, psychedelic, raw, with the idea that nobody solos / everybody solos—akin to Weather Report. The more I listened, the more I knew these songs would eventually become a vehicle for my jazz expression.”

Norwegian singer-songwriter Marie Ulven, or better known as her stagename Girl in Red (stylized as girl in red) will be doing a North American tour in 2022. The girl in red North American tour is selling quickly with several shows already selling out (even though we still have a full year to go!)

We briefly mentioned girl in red in March 2019, talking about the sold-out Conan Gray show (with girl in red as opener). Unfortunately, all live shows were cancelled due to the COVID pandemic.

In other girl in red news, she teamed up with The Trevor Project and Soundwaves Art for a special Pride campaign with a limited run of signed artwork.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of The White Stripes’ landmark third studio album White Blood Cells, the band will be releasing a newly expanded, remastered deluxe edition with bonus live performance (recorded at Gold Dollar on June 7, 2001).

I remember buying the album at my local Best Buy for $10. I actually enjoyed their previous releases, but they were still relatively unknown around this time. Little did I know that it would be this album that skyrocket The White Stripes to superstardom with that little song called “Seven Nation Army”. The song was so popular, that it would be played in football stadiums, where you can hear the entire crowd chanting and singing to the catchy notes.

This spring, The Glitch Mob’s underground remix of “Seven Nation Army” will be available as a 7-inch vinyl single on Friday, July 9, 2021. The standard black vinyl is available for pre-order now at Third Man Records website. A limited-edition red vinyl 7-inch will be available that same day exclusively at Third Man Records Nashville & Detroit, as well as at select independent record stores around the world.

Anyway, if that’s not enough, The White Stripes’ self-titled 1999 debut album and 2003’s Elephant will be available in HD Remaster. A special $7.99 limited time anniversary album sale on the entire White Stripes catalog has begun on Apple Music.

Feminist/activist/singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco is offering Revolutionary Love: Live at Big Blue, a full 95-minute concert documentary film from Ani, Terence Higgins and special guest Ivan Neville.

The Big Blue is basically Ani’s home and recording studio for the past decade, so she’s comfortable and at her best when playing the entire Revolutionary Love album live. Revolutionary Love: Live at Big Blue will be out July 9th, via Righteous Babe store.

In 2021, at the beginning of the year, Jonas Blue teamed up with AWA to deliver the house hit “Something Stupid” (streamed over 8 million times).

Now in March, North London DJ/producer and KISS FM Radio Host, Majestic, took that song and remixed it, adding a new spin (with deeper bass) to the song.
