Earlier this month, Owls announce their first new LP in 13 years, due out in March 25, 2014, on Polyvinyl Records.
Over 20 years ago, Tim Kinsella, Mike Kinsella, Victor Villarreal, and Sam Zurick formed Cap'n Jazz as teenagers, and they continued as Owls in 2001. Well, before you knew it, the band got back together and recorded their new Two album. And yes, that is Oasis' Noel Gallagher on their cover artwork, looking bloodied.
Why now, you ask? Well after their Cap'n Jazz reunion tour in 2010, everyone started talking about continuing on with the reunion-thing. As they talked about it, they realized what they really wanted to do was another Owls album, and it was finalized when Zurick moved back to Chicago in February of 2012.
Hear "I'm Surprised...":
No tour dates are announced, but with the album being released around SXSW time (March), I would not be 'surprise' to hear a tour coming up...
Look for Two on all popular formats, including CD, cassette, digital, and LP (Early Bird Edition 180-Gram Orange - limited to 800 and 180-Gram Light Blue).

They didn't send me a lot of information on this Australian band called The Owls. The band is fairly new, having only formed last year (2013), but they've already rubbed elbows with established acts like The Cribs, The Jezabels, DZ Deathrays, and Ball Park Music, just to name a few.
They've recently released "Kraków", the first song from forthcoming EP, Own the Streets.
If you live in Australia, the Newcastle rockers are out on tour:
Feb 22 The Great Northern - Byron Bay
Feb 23 The Bearded Lady - Brisbane
