The band with a thousand names, Osees (previously known as Thee Oh Sees, The Oh Sees, Oh Sees, The Ohsees, OCS, Orange County Sound, and Orinoka Crash Suite) is back, and headlining First Avenue in Minneapolis on September 15th. The tour will end at LEVITATION 2022.

The band’s new album A Foul Form is out now via Castle Face Records.

Highly Suspect is not only kicking off their 2022 fall headlining tour in Minneapolis… but they are playing a two-night residency at First Avenue on Sep 16 and Sep 17.

The band’s latest album, The Midnight Demon Club will be out on September 9th.

We last saw Highly Suspect on Mar 31, 2017 and said, “It wasn’t too long before Highly Suspect took the stage to a very restless sold out audience. Any possible signs that the band was on stage were greeted with huge cheers (even for the awkward stage hand who was just trying to adjust the mic). As we previously mentioned, we caught the band as opener in September 2015 and were impressed that more than half the audience was there for Highly Suspect.”

If you are a fan of Crystal Castles, you all know what happened, Alice Glass accused her music partner Ethan Kath of sexual, physical, and mental abuse and left the band in 2017. Since then, Glass produced music under Alice Glass.

Alice Glass’ official debut album is called PREY//IV, and is out now via Eating Glass Records.

Speaking about the new project Glass shares, “I hope this record reaches those who need to know that they are not alone in this world—who need to know that it’s ok to be hurting. I hope, for some, that it will give them the courage to find a path away from the toxic situations they are experiencing.”

Producer and musician Kelly Lee Owens (abbreviated to KLO on the show poster) will be playing the Fine Line on September 16, 2021, with Andrew Broder as opener… this is the same night as Mannequin Pussy (which we mentioned in June 2021).

Owens is touring in support of Inner Song Remix Series EP, a remix album of last year’s Inner Song (Smalltown Supersound). The album which NPR Music called “reclaiming space for women in dance music in really powerful and important ways.”

Los Angeles’ Osees, previously known as Thee Oh Sees, The Oh Sees, Oh Sees, The Ohsees, OCS, Orange County Sound, and Orinoka Crash Suite, is headlining the First Avenue’s mainroom this September 16, 2021, with Mr. Elevator as opener.

Osees’s latest release is a live album called Levitation Sessions Vol. II, which came out April 23, 2021 , but it may be filed under their previous name Thee Oh Sees. The official release The Chapel, SF 10.2.19, another live album, is billed under Osees and came out June 12, 2021.

Talk about bad luck… Bayside’s anniversary tour, 20 Years of Bad Luck, was forced to cancel, due to the pandemic. Of course, the band took it in good form, rescheduling and cleverly renaming the tour to “21 Years of Really Bad Luck Tour”. The Minneapolis date is set for September 17th, with them will be Senses Fail, Hawthorne Heights, and The Bombpops.

Richmond-based singer Lucy Dacus is headlining the Cedar Cultural Center on October 12th. Dacus’ sophomore album Historian (Matador Records) is one of the most unanimously lauded ‘Best Albums of 2018’.

We last saw Dacus with Courtney Barnett, and Julien Baker, in July 2018 and mentioned, “Dacus seemed pretty pleased at the big crowd and thanked the audience for coming out early to see her. Then she apologized for not being Big Thief. Apparently Big Thief dropped out, so Dacus, who was already playing with Barnett and Baker for Chicago’s Pitchfork Music Festival 2018 the previous night, asked to “get in on this.””

The once-Minneapolis singer Lizzo is back and she’s more popular than ever. Her two-night residency at the Armory has sold out. We saw Lizzo in Feb 2016 and mentioned, “Lizzo is not a small girl. Her tagline is "Big GRRRL, Small World". She has curves and isn't afraid to show them off as she proved last night when she came out in a leotard type outfit with a jacket on top. She didn't care that her legs would jiggle as she danced. She made fun of people staring at her butt multiple times. She was beautiful and she was doing it, jiggle and all.”

Singer/songwriter Ari Lennox to open. Lennox’s album Shea Butter Baby is out now.

Mt. Joy is back in town, this time playing the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis. We saw the band in October 2017 and said, “Los Angeles by way of Philadelphia alt-folk-rockers Mt. Joy opened the evening with a forty-five minute set of new songs that properly introduced the new band, and gave these many won-over fans a chance to hear the tracks, soon to appear on their upcoming debut.”

Show up early to check out California’s Wilderado, touring in support of their new single “Surefire”.

We love The Vaccines. The UK band will be back in the city at the Fine Line Music Café (now run by First Avenue) and will be playing some tracks from their fourth studio album Combat Sports.

If you haven’t seen them, the band is known for a great live show (winning BRIT Award nominations for Best Live Act and Best New Artist) and their songs are really short and catchy.
