MORRISSEY
I know a lot of fans are really angry about the recent Morrissey show cancellation at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles, California. Some fans are really upset, but I’m going to have to defend Morrissey on this one.
I’ve read the accounts from fans, who said that it was cold and getting colder (48℉ at the time of cancellation) and the venue’s heating system was not working. It would’ve been a miserable experience for both Morrissey and his fans in attendance. Speaking as someone who does not go out in the winter, I completely understand.
Plus, if you’re a longtime Morrissey fan, as I am, you know he has a long history of cancellations (as collected over the years on Every date that Morrissey has ever cancelled), so it really shouldn’t surprise anyone.
Anyway, in Morrissey news, ‘Jacky’s Only Happy When She’s Up On The Stage’ is the latest single from the forthcoming Low In High School (set for release on November 17 via Etienne Records/BMG).
You can grab the single and other merchandise at two unique pop-up shops in London and Los Angeles (8250 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90048) from November 17-19. The pop-up shops will have 100 album test pressings autographed by Morrissey available for purchase at each location on a first come, first served basis each day. They’ll also have the only physical stores stocking all of the Language Edition colored LPs and the 7” limited edition boxset.

OCTOBER STAR
London band October Star recently released their new single ‘How Soon Is Now’, with B-side ‘Star Pusher’ on November 7, 2017. The Smiths cover song is described as “a wall of sound with a hypnotic electronic blend of drums, warm stacks of distortion and the pulsing guitar that opens this classic.”

Although not listed on their Bandcamp, I was also given a preview of a Slow Tempo version of their cover ‘How Soon Is Now?’ It sounds about the same, only slightly slow.
