American alternative rock Silversun Pickups recently shared their cover of Low’s “Just Like Christmas.” The song was produced by Butch Vig (Garbage) and all proceeds will be donated to Union Gospel Mission, a charity of Low’s choice, in Mimi Parker’s name. Parker recently passed away in November.

Brian Aubert of SSPU shared, “We’ve been fans of Low’s beautiful music for a long time now. When we heard the news about Mimi’s passing, we were incredibly sad. With Alan’s blessing, we decided to cover one of their Christmas songs, with hopes of raising money for a cause dear to Alan in Mimi’s name. Low’s Christmas is a classic. It was the first one I ever heard that made me feel holiday music could be cool.”

Do you guys remember The Linda Lindas? We saw them open for Japanese Breakfast in July 2022, and honestly, we were way more excited about the opener: “For a young (literally teenagers), new band, they sure had plenty of songs under their belt, as they played a rock/punk fun 43-min set on the first night of the tour.”

The Los Angeles punk band recently stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! and performed their new holiday single “Groovy Xmas.”

Fans can catch The Linda Lindas one last time this year when they headline a sold out show at LA’s Fonda Theatre on Dec. 15. A full rundown of upcoming tour dates including a 2023 tour with Paramore.

“Every Christmas”, the new single from Nickelodeon’s Good NEWZ Girls recently aired on Nickelodeon’s holiday TV special, The Great Nickmas Tree Sliming… Hosted by That Girl Lay Lay.

The official music video, which was helmed by MTV VMA-nominated director Sarah McColgan, already hit over 1 million views on YouTube alone.

“Every Christmas” is the first holiday single from the new edition of Good NEWZ Girls’ debut EP, Winter Getaway. After listening to the Christmas song, it’s pretty good - if you like auto-tune and pop music. It’s fun, it’s catchy, and kids will love it.

Singer/songwriter Laura Gibson will be at the 7th Street Entry on January 15th. Her last album Empire Builder was a “a triumph” according to Uncut Magazine. I can relate, as the first time I heard “La Grande”, I fell in love with Gibson’s ghostly tale in March 2012. She writes great songs.

We caught Tuomo & Markus with the Jayhawks in Dec 2018 and said, “The three-band evening began with a crisp set from Tuomo & Markus, a new project described as Nordic Americana from Finnish soul/jazz artist Tuomo Prättälä and singer/songwriter Markus Nordenstreng of The Latebirds. Performing as just a duo, the pair returns as a proper six-piece, in just a few weeks, in support of debut album Dead Circles, to headline the Cedar Cultural Center on January 18.”
