Apparently, Ron West passed away on or around May 2, 2020. Ron was the lead singer, guitarist, keyboard player, harmonica player and songwriter for the band, “Missouri”. Their 1978 eponymous debut featured the song “Movin’ On”, which was a regional hit and became a certified “KSHE Classic“ in St. Louis on KSHE 95 radio. Ron’s real name was Ron Hodgden. He was also a founding member of the popular Kansas City band, “The Chesmann”, along with his brothers Gary and Steve, from 1964 - 1974. Ron’s brother,Gary West, was also a member of the band, “Shooting Star”, which had several AOR hits in the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s and had quite a few of their own “KSHE Classics” during the same time frame.

Songwriter, Moon Martin, died May 11, 2020. Born John David Martin in 1945, he was given the nickname, "Moon", because the word "moon" would appear in so many of the lyrics of his songs. His biggest hit was "Bad Case Of Loving You". His version, which was released in 1978 on the "Shots From A Cold Nightmare" album, never charted, but Robert Palmer's version the following year, reached #14 on the Billboard Hot 100. Willy DeVille and his band, Mink DeVille, enjoyed some minor success in the UK with the Martin penned composition, "Cadillac Walk". Martin, himself, charted in 1979 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Rolene" (#30) and "No Chance" (#50). His song, "X-Ray Vision", was a hit on MTV in 1982.

Ken Hensley, singer, keyboardist, guitarist and songwriter for Uriah Heep, passed away on November 4, 2020. Hensley was a member of the British hard rockers from 1970-1980 and continued to reunite with the band in the subsequent years for anniversaries and one-off shows. His years with the band were considered the heyday of the group and along with Mick Box, David Byron, Gary Thain and Lee Kerslake comprised what most fans considered the classic lineup. He wrote or co-wrote a big portion of Uriah Heep’s catalogue in the decade during which he was a member. He had writing or co-writing credits on the hits “Lady In Black” and “Look At Yourself” (on both of which he sang the lead vocal), as well as “Easy Livin’”, “Stealin’”, “Salisbury”, “July Morning”, “The Wizard” and many others.
