Sweden's Labrador is turning to popular file-sharing Piratebay for help in distribution of their Summer Sampler compilation.

W♥M have covered quite a few of their bands, including Acid House Kings (er, I couldn't find them in our database. We never covered AHK???? WTF!), Club 8, Loveninjas, The Mary Onettes, Pelle Carlberg, The Radio Dept., Suburban Kids With Biblical Names.

Well, putting the massive 68-track Labrador Summer Sampler 2007 on our server didn't work quite as smoothly as we'd hoped. I don't know if we overestimated our server or underestimated the need of good music this summer. Either way, our server has been pretty dysfunctional ever since but it's all been taken care of now. Very sorry about this!

They are also looking for popbands, which is good news, considering some record companies such as Drag City is not accepting any demos.

Loveninjas - Sweet Geisha Love

Sweet Geisha Love

Loveninjas

Loveninjas. They are four young men from Sweden. They sing catchy indiepop songs about sex, death, and Japanese girls. They are signed to the fabulous Labrador Records in Sweden. So far they have three E.P.'s/singles, and their debut album, "The Secret of the Loveninjas", was released late in 2006.

I figure I'd share a B-side, since their more popular songs are rather easy to find, and I'm a huge fan of discovering really good songs amongst the B-sides of an E.P. or single. After I chose this song, "Sweet Geisha Love", I learned that it was actually the first song written by the group's founder, Tor, even before he asked a few of his friends to join him and become Loveninjas.

Update: Regarding Vu's earlier post about penis songs... Loveninjas did a song called "She Broke His Penis in Two", which appears on their "The Secret of the Loveninjas" album and as a B-side on the "Keep Your Love" E.P.
