We like Stars here, having covered the band since we started W♥M. The Canadian band is making their way east in America.
According to the band, they're "hole up in small rooms and big old houses to begin another record", so expect a follow-up to their recent The North album. In the meantime, two tracks from their North session "Wishful" and "The Light" will be available as limited edition 7".

Burger Records is an independent label that started in 2007 in Fullerton, California and is known for releasing cassette tapes of grunge/pop/garage bands. With cassettes gaining popularity in recent years (thanks for this are similarly shared with Portland's Gnar Tapes label) and the label signing such acts as Colleen Green, The Growlers and even releasing material from the ever-popular Brian Jonestown Massacre, the label is sure to keep on its upward climb. Crystal Stilts recently shared the video for "Star Crawl", taken from the band's forthcoming album, Nature Noir. The video directed by Daniel Fetherston tries to capture the earth and elements from the album's theme, stating "We took off one morning to go capture random sweeping scenes. Rivers and valleys, trees and ponds... in a word, nature. I guess the album has that feel as opposed to the earliest Crystal Stilts material, which could refer to the cities, the subways, thoughts and frustrations that are kept inside oneself. This song is perhaps about doing grandiose things, but knowing it's not in you. The long sweeping shots of the Hudson Valley, and elsewhere at least somewhat resemble the scale of those claims."
'Naturally', with the new Nature Noir record, the band is currently on tour:

North Mississippi Allstars are playing Cabooze this Friday, September 27th, in support of their new seventh studio record, World Boogie Is Coming (out now).
When asked about the album's name, Cody Dickinson said, "'World boogie is coming' was my father's favorite valediction. Naming this record after his closing phrase seemed like a great way to honor him and his memory. World boogie is coming is also a rallying cry. And the cry is this: It's time to boogie!"
NPR described these brothers (Luther and Cody Dickinson) as "Americana music luminaries", so if you're into dancing (and apparently boogying), then you should make it out to one of their shows.
