The Wldlfe (not to be confused with Wildlife or This Wild Life) is back in Minneapolis on August 19th, 2023, at the 7th Street Entry.

Detroit indie pop singer-songwriter Yueku (formerly of The True Blue) to open. His latest EP Little Less Noise was released on July 28th.

Local Minneapolis band Poolboy also on the bill.

North Carolina’s electropop duo Sylvan Esso (singer Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn) is headlining the massive Armory, in Minneapolis, on August 19th.

It’s nice to see how far they’ve gone, from an opening act in Nov 2013 to selling out much larger venues. We wrote, “Sylvan Esso (a duo of vocalist Amelia Meath and beats maker Nick Sanborn) only prepared for a thirty-five minute set, their performance was pushed back fifteen minutes so there will be little downtime until Minor Alps take the stage. This was Sylvan Esso first gig as Minor Alps opener, and they sound more like The Blow than Mountain Man (who Meath harmonize as one of three singers).”

We caught the singer in Oct 2021 and noted, “The audience for Indigo De Souza’s show were mostly young women, who seemingly all knew the lyrics to De Souza’s music. Songs like “How I Get Myself Killed” felt like it was sung by the fans on the dancefloor, rather than coming from the stage.
