Blonde Redhead
with Lutalo
at Amsterdam Bar & Hall
first-avenue.com
Can you believe it’s been 9 years since we last saw Blonde Redhead ? The band is back with a new album called Sit Down For Dinner (section1).
We caught Blonde Redhead in Nov 2014, and said, “It has been a while, but NYC's Blonde Redhead is back in the Twin Cities. The dreampop/ethereal pop/shoegazing trio constists of Kazu Makino and twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace. Kazu and Simone traded vocals per songs, back and forth, and they seem to know their set very well (possibly playing the same set every night).”
Lutalo to open.

at Amsterdam Bar & Hall
first-avenue.com
GRAMMY® Award-nominated, Multi-Platinum-certified artist GAYLE is headlining the Amsterdam Bar & Hall, in St Paul, on November 1st. Her new single, “leave me for dead,” is out now.
Opening the show is Dylan, which we said was “one of UK’s hottest exports this year” with her hot single “Liar, Liar” (featuring Bastille’s Dan Smith). We also mentioned that it is impossible for anyone to search for her name, as everything comes up Bob Dylan.
Dylan’s headlining show in Oct 1 was rescheduled to April 9, 2024.

2023 is shaping up to be Twin Cities Con’ biggest show yet! Looking over their guest list, you can see the big draw is the Kevin Smith universe: Jason Mewes, Jason Lee, Brian O'Halloran (Clerks), Marilyn Ghigliotti (Clerks), Ethan Suplee (Mallrats), Ming Chen (Comic Book Men).
We saw Mewes in and said, “The Refuge in the Mall: A Mallrats Reunion with Jason Mewes and Michael Rooker was a lot of fun. It's been more than 20 years since the Kevin Smith film Mallrats, in some ways, was ahead of its time. The two joked about meeting in a hot tub (a recurring joke throughout the panel) and reflect back on that film. Apparently Rooker broke Jason Lee's beloved skateboard off set.”
