For Rocktober week two, here are the shows coming to Minneapolis.
Starting on Sunday, we have Cave. The "none-drone" band will be out in support of their new album Threace (coming out October 15th on Drag City).
I've seen this Chicago band before, opening up for Chelsea Light Moving (Thurston Moore) and was rather impressed with their ability to build up their instrumental rock.

Guess who is opening up for Franz Ferdinand for all their U.S. tour dates? That's right, Frankie Rose. She'll be here on Wednesday at the Skyway Theatre in Minneapolis. I've never been inside this venue, so I'm very excited to see it in action.

Thursday, Phantogram will be in Minneapolis at First Avenue. Phantogram has been very busy since their set at 2012 Bonnaroo Festival, writing and recording new music.
Perhaps the New York duo (Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter) will showcase some new songs on this upcoming tour. In the meantime, they've just released a self-titled digital EP via Stereogum (streaming right now at stereogum.com).

Finally Saturday, we have ZZ Ward at the Skyway Theatre. Yes, the same theater that my first time will be on Wednesday for Franz Ferdinand, so this venue is booking some really good musicians!
The soul songstress will be almost wrapping up her "Down and Dirty Shine Tour" with Saturday's show, ending in Chicago.
Expect her to play the hit songs "Put The Gun Down" and "365 Days" from her debut album, Til The Casket Drops as well as some covers, etc.
