Multi-platinum superstars Duran Duran is currently on their “Paper Gods World Tour”... they’ll be stopping by the Xcel Energy Center in St Paul next Saturday, July 23rd. Tickets starts at $30 and goes up to as much as $140, depending on how close you want to be next to the legendary band.
I did take a sneak peek at their setlists that they’ve been playing on this tour - and let me tell you: they do all the big hits like ‘Hungry Like A Wolf’, ‘The Reflex’, ‘Rio’ and ‘Girls on Film’, etc.
For the Xcel show, two openers are listed: Chic, featuring Nile Rodgers, and Tokimonsta.

Local trio Kitten Forever (Corrie Harrigan, Laura Larson, and Liz Elton) is celebrating their 10th Anniversary as a band next Saturday, July 23rd. They’ve enlisting various local bands (all of whom we’ve seen at some point).
The big band to watch for is Candace (Sarah Rose, Sarah Nienaber, and Mara Appel DesLauriers). Although the name may sound new to you, they’re really Is/Is. I haven’t looked into why they decided to change their name, but it’s probably to avoid confusion with the terrorist group ISIS. Candace’s New Future is out now on Found Object Records.
Condominium, Royal Brat, and Tony Peachka also on the bill.

Local pop quartet Southern Resident Killer Whales (Dan Hylton’s band) will be playing with American Housewife next Saturday. The latter is formerly known as Space Heater (Maureen Rudd and Stephanie Paquin).
