Ireland’s platinum-selling band Kodaline will be returning to Minneapolis at the Varsity Theater on Monday, November 26th. The band (singer Steve Garrigan, guitarist Mark Prendergast, bassist Jason Boland and drummer Vinny May) is touring in support of their new album Politics of Living (Sony Music UK/RCA Records).
The last time we saw the band, it was in October 2015, and we said, “We’ve been fans of, and have followed Irish quartet Kodaline, since they started coming to the Twin Cities over three years ago as openers; with an increasing fan base (especially locally), this was their third time in Minneapolis in 2015 alone! Clearly the band love playing here...”
Ocean Park Standoff will be opening the US tour.

YUKON BLONDE and THE ZOLAS
Turf Club
Mon 11/26/2018 (7pm/$13)
turfclub.net
Yukon Blonde and The Zolas are co-headlining a North American 2018 tour. They will be stopping by the Turf Club in St Paul on Monday, November 26th.
We saw Yukon Blonde in Nov 2015 and mentioned, “Yukon Blonde, based in Vancouver, had played the Twin Cities and this club in particular before, though in 2011 as the headliner. At that time they were touring in support of their first self-titled album and their subsequent EP Fire/Water, and their sound could only be described as bright, almost unbearably catchy indie pop. Their music was characterized by great hooks and beautiful harmonies.”

guthrietheater.org
Guitarist Leo Kottke, along with American rock/folk singer James McMurtry, will be on the Wurtele Thrust Stage at the Guthrie Theater on Monday, November 26th.
If the McMurtry name sounds familiar, you may have seen him in films, such as Daisy Miller and Lonesome Dove.
Note: The original poster lists Todd Park Mohr of Big Head Todd & the Monsters, but currently, the show does not list Mohr’s name.
Here’s how the venue describes the show:
The Dakota and Live at the Guthrie present Leo Kottke
After recording more than 40 albums over four decades, the prolific guitarist Leo Kottke boasts an impressive body of work and an unrivaled fingerpicking style that has won him two Grammy nominations and widespread acclaim. Drawing inspiration from folk, blues and jazz, he plays his signature 6-string and 12-string guitars with effortless aptitude, a big heart and an even bigger grin. Joined by revered songwriter James McMurtry, this guitar-playing duo will bring their unique sound to the Guthrie for an extraordinary night of musical storytelling.
