Ex-Oasis Noel Gallagher, or otherwise billed as Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will be releasing a new 2015 album, produced by Noel with a much broader array of instrumentation than ever before. The result is a rich, expansive and multi-layered record, drawing from a range of disparate influences - from west coast rock to classic rock'n'roll and even some space jazz. On producing the album, Noel said:
"It was a major pain in the arse. It's not that I've ever had people telling me what to write or what direction to go in, but managing sessions from one end of the week to the other proved extremely difficult. I had all these people looking at me and saying: 'right, what are we doing today?' I was making the whole thing up as I went along."
"In The Heat Of The Moment" will be the hypnotic preceding single (out November 17th) from the upcoming Chasing Yesterday album. The LP will be released on March 3rd via Sour Mash Records, on CD, Deluxe CD, vinyl and digitally.

We've been following this story for a while, if you recall earlier in 2014, I wrote that Idlewild were back in the studios in September 2013... which indicated that the band members were on good terms with each other.
Some of the band members got back together to do a sold-out acoustic tour in England last month, but now everything is official: the Scottish band's eight studio album Everything Ever Written will be released February 9, 2015 in the UK.
"The album was predominantly written on the Isle of Mull," vocalist Roddy Woomble explains. "The record soundtracks a period of transition. Working without time constraints gave the whole thing a creative freedom. Idlewild is a new band to me now; I'm excited for the future."
BBC6's Steve Lamacq will be premiering Idlewild's new single "Collect Yourself" tonight (which will be available as an immediate download for anyone who preordered the new record via pledgemusic.com/idlewild).
Naturally, the band will be playing some dates in support of Everything Ever Written:
27th February - Luxor – Cologne
1st March - Lido – Berlin
2nd March - Knust – Hamburg
3rd March - Bitterzoet – Amsterdam
7th March - O2 ABC – Glasgow
8th March - O2 ABC – Glasgow
10th March - The Institute – Birmingham
12th March - The Ritz – Manchester
13th March - Roundhouse – London

I have seen Olympia's Sleater-Kinney at least two times in Minneapolis, but I may have to skip out on this upcoming reunion tour... on account that it is in the winter time (and the fact that it was "one of the worst time I've ever spent at a show" at First Ave in 2002). As much as I love the band, but I was put off by their over-aggressive slam-dancing fans.
The new reunited trio will be touring in support of No Cities to Love, which comes out January 20, 2015, on Sub Pop Records.
