Swedish indie rock band I Break Horses recently released Warnings via Bella Union. The duo (Maria Lindén and Fredrik Balck) took their name from the song by Bill Callahan.
Despite being around since 2008, Warnings only marked the duo’s third album. Maria Lindén explains, “It has been some time in the making. About six years, involving several studios, collaborations that didn’t work out, a crashed hard drive with about two years of work, writing new material again instead of trying to repair it. New studio recordings, erasing everything, then recording most of the album myself at home…”

Now, Megan Thee Stallion recently teamed up with Diplo’s Major Lazer for a remix of her breakout single “Savage”. The original single is already Megan’s highest charting solo song.
Incidentally, there is also a “Savage Remix” (feat. Beyoncé), which benefited The Bread of Life, Inc. in downtown Houston in their response to Covid-19.

Chicago multi-instrumentalist V.V. Lightbody (aka Vivian McConnell) single single is called “Horse On Fire”.
Vivian McConnell explains, ““Horse on Fire” was initially written from a place of anger. I was pissed. It’s about someone in my life who did something almost unforgivable and then skipped town - not giving anyone time to understand what happened, heal, or forgive. How can you love someone who messed up like that? How did you not see this coming? “Horse on Fire” works through that feeling while also reflecting on the more tender moments of a deep friendship. “Horse on Fire” is the most indulgent track on Make a Shrine or Burn It: excessive saxophone, a disco-esque bass line, and a double Farfisa solo. I let this song be a loose cannon as a response to frustration, and that’s where the song wanted to go.”
The single is taken from V.V.’s album Make A Shrine Or Burn It.

London Ontario’s Yeti on Horseback released their new song “Nothing”, over at No Clean Singing (nocleansinging.com).
The band said, “Since the release of 'The Great Dying' in 2016, we as a band have gone through member changes, birth, death and a plague, and still we were able to record 'Nothing' . 'Nothing' is bleak and unrelenting. It is the soundtrack to what is real in this human life: Misery, suffering and death. We are not special. We will not be remembered. Life is nothing.”
No Clean Singing wrote, “this group from London, Ontario, Canada, haven’t softened their stance or become mellower with the passing years. Their new single “Nothing“, which we’re premiering today, is stunningly dark and dauntingly massive, and dynamic in a way that only reveals different dimensions of devastation, shaking the earth and the soul in equal measure.”

Rising country music stand-out Vonn Kiss & The Dark Horses released their latest single “Struggle”. The single streamed over 140k on social media, and over 50k on Spotify and Apple Music.
“Struggle” was produced and co-written by Greg Archilla and stays true to Vonn’s signature classic country style. Vonn explains, “The song ‘Struggle’ is basically what it says for every artist out there just chasing a dream. It's trying to find a balance between living the dream, spending time with family and friends and the music business as a whole.”
The single is a glimpse of what we can expect from their highly anticipated album, set for a Fall 2020 release.

Glasgow’s post-punk quartet Dead Pony (Anna Shields, Blair Crichton, Liam Adams, and Aidan McAllister) recently announced the arrival of their new song, “Everything Is Easy”. The song released on May 1, 2020, via LAB Records.
Frontwoman Anna Shield talked about the song, “‘Everything is Easy’ is a take on how simple childhood experiences can be soured as you grow older. Lyrically, we tried to capture that feeling of betrayal you feel as a young, naïve child when you find out Santa isn’t real or that your conception wasn’t via your Dad finding a snotter on the wall and raising it to become you. We came up with this idea after having discussed how ridiculous the things were we believed as children.”
