Foxing at Triple Rock (04 March 2016)
|
We’ve seen Foxing in
March 2016, and said, “St Louis’ Foxing (singer Conor Murphy, bassist Josh Coll, guitarist Ricky Sampson, guitarist Eric Hudson, violinist Emma Tiemann, and drummer Jon Hellwig) took the stage at 7:30pm with their personal stage lighting from the ground floor. As you can see from their setlist, “Weave” was cross-off in favor of playing “Redwoods” live. The set is a pretty good mix of their two released albums The Albatross and Dealer.”

We are big fans of the band, reviewing their record
Radio Retaliation, in
Sep 2008, we said, “So, if you're not already a fan of Thievery Corporation, you will be shortly after checking out their style of music. They have a vast knowledge of all world music (Indian, French, Brazilian, etc), and they have good ears to pick out the best ones to sample and remix.”

Wage War at Amsterdam Bar (15 March 2016)

We previously saw Wage War in
Mar 2016 and said, “The crowd was full of energy for majority of the night. I loved watching them while Wage War played. Wage War is a band that I saw back in December when they opened for Every Time I Die. They were amazing that night but, sadly, did not get the attention from the crowd that they deserved. I honestly don't know if majority of the crowd back in December even noticed there was a band on stage. It was great to see the crowd giving them all of the attention they deserved. Kids were singing along and moshing and dancing. It was wild to see how quickly Wage War had gained all of these followers and they are more than deserving of it. People think it's stupid that I will go see the same band a bunch of times but this is a perfect example as to why I do that. The amount of satisfaction I have in seeing such a deserving band finally make it "big" with my friends is one of the best feelings on the planet.”

Jonah Marais, formerly from
Why Don’t We is headlining the Fine Line, in Minneapolis, on September 26, 2024.
Marais describes his first album:
Hey, I’m Jonah! Thank you for being here. This is my first music release and tour since being in my band Why Don’t We.
This music covers a massive transition in my life, and is my first independent release on my own label called Young & Optimistic. I got to work with friends, and really just tap into my creativity and make music that I’d wanna listen to, but I also really made this with you guys in mind. I’ve been through some of the hardest mental health seasons of my life in the last couple years, but knowing you guys are out there got me through. This is about all of us creating this next chapter together. Excited to perform this music live and see you on the road! ♥️
