Los Angeles-based buzz band Family of The Year continues their trek across the country, with The Mowgli’s, bringing a taste of Southern California to the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis, on Saturday April 13. This date closely follows a late January sold-out show from FOTY at the 7th St Entry, proving their popularity is growing exponentially.
Anchored by Welsh-born brothers Joe and Sebastian Keefe, the band’s melodic sound of male/female harmonies and alt-folk stylings have recently taken hold with the single “Hero”, which is currently in regular rotation on local public radio and Adult/Hot Alternative stations.
Touring in support of their latest release, ‘Loma Vista’, the band’s laid back and relaxed update of California Surf Rock has garnered recent positive support from reviews in Spin, NME, and on the BBC.
This time around, they bring fellow Californian band, The Mowgli’s in tow, who also bring the good time vibes and West Coast pop/folk harmonies and melodies.
Fans of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, or an updated California sound that also harkens back to Fleetwood Mac and The Byrds, should take interest in this show, featuring two West Coast bands quickly gaining national attention.
