Prepare yourselves to see and hear some amazing local and regional bands at AthFest Music & Arts Festival 2016, running from June 24-26 in Athens, GA. This year also happens to be the 20th anniversary of this fabulous festival. It has been a privilege to witness AthFest evolve from its first inception into the juggernaut it is today. At AthFest you can enjoy the free outdoor concerts during the afternoon and early evening, and then have some late night fun as well at the Club Crawl shows.
The headliners this year are Family and Friends (Friday), Arrested Development (Saturday) and Kishi Bashi (Sunday).
AthFest is all about giving back to the community. It is made possible by the nonprofit organization AthFest Educates, which awards grants to Athens area educators to strengthen their music and art programs.
This year’s guitar auction will feature a Gretsch 6118 two-tone Green Anniversary electric guitar, signed by the members of Athens’ own Drive-By Truckers: Mike Cooley, Jay Gonzalez, Patterson Hood, Brad Morgan and Matt Patton. This guitar was donated to AthFest Educates by The Gretsch Foundation. Proceeds will fund AthFest Educates to provide grants that support music and art education programs in Athens.
AthFest wristbands are $30 each and can be purchased online or in person at the following Athens locations:
