Emily Nenni
with Zach Bryson
at Turf Club
first-avenue.com
Honky tonk country singer/songwriter Emily Nenni is touring in support of Drive & Cry (New West Records).
Talking about the album’s lead track “Get To Know Ya,” Nenni explains, “I was selling cowboy boots and my coworkers were making plans to go to the honky tonk that night. I had already written a couple of songs for the record and they were on the melancholy side, so I wanted to have an upbeat two-stepping number. I just imagined some 80s movie like Hard Country, and folks getting off work and headed to the honky tonk…something that’s still alive and well in Nashville, TN.”
Zach Bryson to open.
Emily Nenni On Tour:

Isaiah Collier & The Chosen Few
with Omar Abdulkarim
at Dakota Jazz Club
first-avenue.com
Chicago-based Isaiah Collier and the Chosen Few will be performing at the Dakota Jazz Club, in Minneapolis, on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in support of his recent album The Almighty.
With these Dakota shows, they start on time - so if the venue lists 7pm music, they start at 7pm. I recommend showing up at least 30 minutes early to get some food and then enjoy the show.
Isaiah will be joined by special guest, trumpeter Omar Abdulkarim, pianist Kavyesh Kaviraj, bassist Micah Collier, and drummer James Russell Sims.
Opening the show will be trumpeter Omar Abdulkarim (who is also playing in Isaiah Collier’s band). He’s been playing the trumpet since he was “14 months”, according to his biography. Omar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from the renowned New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
