To keep with the theme of nature, Lorde talks about the record, “The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalizing the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors. BRIT Award-nominated artist Joy Crookes unveil her full-length debut album, Skin… available on October 15 via Insanity/Epic Records.
That’s pretty amazing, considering that Cookes spent her youth covering Laura Marling and Ray Charles on her YouTube page.
Talking about the title track, “Skin”, Joy commented, “Out of all the songs I have ever written I think 'Skin' is the most important to me. It is simple musically and lyrically, the lyrics are literal and self explanatory: 'The skin that you're given, was made to be lived in. You've got a life, you've got a life, worth living'. It exists for anyone who needs reassurance and hope. Mental health is something everyone has to deal with to varying degrees, and in particular the last 18 months have taken their toll. I wrote this song for a loved one last year who was at a stage where he thought his life was no longer worth living. I hope the song offers something to everyone battling with their demons and the people around them who are supporting them.”
The song was co-written by Joy, Danny Casio, and Matt Maltese.
As for the Skin’s album artwork, it is shot by Carlota Guerrero [Arca, Chloe x Halle, Solange].

Today, multi-hyphenate recording artist Dove Cameron has announced “An Evening with Dove Cameron” tour. The three-nights only will kick off October 4th in Chicago, followed by October 6th in New York, and ending with October 10th in Los Angeles.
