Mexican rock band The Warning finally arrived at the Fine Line Music Café on Wednesday, April 27th, after a delay and rescheduling, due to COVID and travel restrictions (originally booked on Feb 1).
Opening the show was rock/outlaw country Devora (aka Ariel Levitan), playing many tracks from her debut EP Outlaw, including the title track as her set finale. The “Outlaw” song is about not really fitting in, and how music saved Levitan.
Other songs on Devora’s brief 30-min that they played were: “Body Bags”, “Wild West”, “Elvis”, and “God Is Dead”.
The Minneapolis show was really special for Devora, as two of the band members, Ryan and Dan, were originally from the area.
The Warning seemed so happy to be in Minneapolis. They mentioned how friendly people were, and how everyone here thanked goodness that they were playing when the weather was warm. At 40 degree F on Wednesday, singer Daniela exclaimed, “but we’re FREEZING!”
The hard rock trio played everyone off their Mayday EP, including “MONEY”, and throwing in some newer songs to fill out their set.
Of course, having their cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” become viral (over 23 million views), the sisters saved the song near the end of their set.
