We actually randomly caught Why Not unannounced at the Turf Club show on Sep 2024 and saw she’s green in Sep 2023: “Local shoegazing band she’s green, featuring Zofia on vocals, Teddy on bass, Liam on guitars, Raines on guitars, and Kevin on drums, opened the show. Although, according to Zofia, the group is from the area, but it was their first time playing the Turf Club.”

We saw Sophia Eris in July 2024 and noted, “Sophia Eris with friends Makr and Jaki Blue (which I thought I heard that she said was her sister). It sounds like the first part of Eris’ set was purely DJing and dancing… but then she switched it up with rapping over beats from Makr. Highlight of their set was when Jaki Blue took over the vocals duties to sing “Quicksand”, a song co-written by Jaki Blue & Sophia Eris with production from Makr.”

We caught Mancari in Sep 2023 and said, “The night began with Nashville (by way of NY and PA) indie folk singer-songwriter Becca Mancari, whose third solo LP Left Hand was just released last month (via Captured Tracks Records). boygenius’ Julien Bakerlent a hand to the new record, which shifts more pop in nature rhythmic shakers of the album’s lead single, “Over and Over” played early in the opening set, lyrically hearken back to an early phase of upbringing and coming out in a fundamentalist household of four kids and a pastor father.”
