Not to be confused with the British band
The Cult, Cults is an indie pop duo of Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion, from New York (although when they play live, it's a full band).
You may remember that I accidentally saw them at

IRENE JACOB AND FRANCIS JACOB
irenejacob.net
Krzysztof Kieślowski is one of my favorite director, I recently picked up his Three Colors boxset from Criterion Collection and I previously already own the Criterion DVD of "The Double Life of Véronique". So yes, I like his work. If you've ever seen his movies, you might know the beautiful Irène Jacob from "Veronique" and "Red".
Irène Jacob is releasing her album,
Je Sais Nager (I Know How to Swim) via Sunnyside Records on May 8, 2012. Her collaborator on the record is her brother, Francis Jacob.
I got the impression that the record is pretty mellow, so expect a mellow lounge evening when the siblings to appear at Joe’s Pub in New York City on May 3, 2012.
ALICE AND MICHI
aliceandmichi.com
Alice and Michi are two young Asian ladies who went into winter hibernation and came out with an album called
Strange Bloom. The album is set to be released on May 15th, 2012 via Kenji Records (although their album was released on V-Day in the UK).
I thought their preview song for "Fighters" had a weird mix of pots & pans, video game beeps and classical.
