Radiation City is currently on tour in support of Animals In The Median, out now on Tender Loving Empire. The dreampop band stopped by the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis last night as part of their tour.
Opening up was local Crisis Line, a pop/dance band, lead by Drew Herder and Alex Proctor, with soul elements (especially with the two dedicated backup singers). I'm assuming they played "Phones" and other songs from the Phones album, one thing is for sure, they ended their set with "Last Kids".
Radiation City just released their sophomore studio album, Animals In The Median, so as expected, they played songs from the new record, such as "L.A. Beach" (featuring vocals from the drummer) and "Lark". Although, I would confessed, I rather enjoy "I Would Hide" from Cool Nightmare, with its depressing lyrics, "I would die".
Highlight of their set is a cover of the Beatles' "Happiness is a Warm Gun". I didn't recognize it until the obvious title was sung, so they really made the song their own.
