They’ve been on the scene for quite a few years now; since 1996, in fact. Their fifth and most recent studio album,
When On We, was released last September (not this coming September as someone (Sally) so wrongly thought) and the 5-piece from Nottingham,
Crazy P, have been touring the album since.
You may have heard, but if not, Crazy P have just been added to the line-up for the upcoming
Harvest festival. To celebrate (yes! Celebrate!) Sally spoke to Jim Baron from the UK electronic outfit to chat about some Harvest-related and not-so-related things.
Have a listen to the interview in full (apologies for the sound quality) to hear such interesting tidbits relating to: what their new(ish) album is like and what makes it more "grown up" than their previous four albums; why Crazy P have been to Australia so many times; what you should expect from Crazy P to see if you are going to be popping along to one of the Harvest dates; what happened to the "enis"
(apparently it had nothing to do with the general disapproval of the band name by a grandparent); and quite an excellent impression of
Harold Bishop (of Neighbours fame).
Overall, Jim Baron, top bloke.... even at 9am after a weekend of festival-going. Make sure you get along to Harvest this coming November and be sure to circle Crazy P on your program and make sure not to miss them. I guarentee they will get you dancing.
2nd announcement lineup announcement! Dexy's Midnight Runners, Crazy P, Silversun Pickups, Los Campesinos!, plus more!
This adds to the already brilliant line up including: Beck, Sigur Ros, Mike Patton’s Mondo Cane, Grizzly Bear, Ben Folds Five, Beirut, Santigold, Cake, The Dandy Warhols, The Black Angels, Chromatics, Ozomatli, Liars, Fuck Buttons, The War on Drugs and Dark Dark Dark.
