Founding member of The Allman Brothers Band, singer and keyboardist Gregg Allman has passed away on Saturday, May 27th, at his home in Savannah, Georgia. He was 69.
The New York Times and his publicist, Ken Weinstein, confirmed the cause of death was from complications of liver cancer.
It should be noted that he married Cher after her divorce from her longtime husband and singing partner Sonny Bono. Allman and Cher’s marriage had a rocky start, she requested a divorce from Allman just nine days after their wedding... The two would stay together until they legally separated in 1977.
