The Vaccines
We love The Vaccines. The UK band will be back in the city at the Fine Line Music Café (now run by First Avenue) and will be playing some tracks from their fourth studio album Combat Sports.

| Daisy the Great
Openers Daisy the Great are actually a Brooklyn-based duo, fronted by Kelley Nicole Dugan and Mina Walker who made waves last fall when they teamed with AJR on the song, “Record Player”, a re-worked version of their own 2017 folk-pop song.

The Kooks
with Vaccines and Daisy the Great
at Fillmore Minneapolis
livenation.com
We’ve already mentioned what an amazing lineup this
The Kooks 2024 tour,
earlier this month. We are covering their appearance at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California… but if you’re in the Minneapolis area, the tour will stop in at the Fillmore on March 16, 2024.
The Kooks (04 October 2014)
|
We last saw
The Kooks in Minneapolis on
04 October 2014 and noted, “When The Kooks took the stage, it brought back memories of seeing them in Chicago in 2007. The band was new and fresh then, and although they've grown up a little, they're still full of youthful energy and fun on stage.
It's also worth noting that this is the first tour to feature new drummer Alexis Nunez, who previously drummed for London's Golden Silvers.”
The Vaccines (10 Oct 2018)
|
We saw
The Vaccines in
10 Oct 2018 and said, “After a short break, the lights dimmed and a weird medley of “Phantom of the Opera” and ABBA’s “Dancing Queen”, The Vaccines have finally arrived to the clean stage of the Fine Line Music Café. Singer Justin Hayward-Young mentioned after a few songs, “Weird, not being at Triple Rock for sure.” As Hayward-Young mentioned, this was The Vaccines’ fourth time in Minneapolis, and “Minneapolis have been very good to us.””
The Vaccines are touring in support of their new album
Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations, available on Thirty Tigers.
Daisy the Great (16 Apr 2023)
|
Finally,
Daisy the Great (Kelley Nicole Dugan and Mina Walker), who we saw in
16 Apr 2023, with the snow: “Despite the snow, Daisy the Great drew in quite the crowd. Everyone on the dancefloor were already super dedicated fans, knowing all the songs and have kept up with the duo’s misadventures on their tour. The 7th Street Entry was only their four show on this 2023 tour … yet they seemed like seasoned professionals, even though they’re often goofing and joking around.”

The #1 female guitarist
Nita Strauss (as named by Guitar World), will be headlining the Skyway Theatre on March 16, 2024, in Minneapolis, in support of her second solo album
The Call of the Void.
Strauss is notably the touring guitarist for Demi Lovato and Alice Cooper, and she’s also the first female signature artist with Ibanez guitars.
Nita Strauss (15 Sep 2023)
|
We saw Nita Strauss as Alice Cooper’s band, in
Sep 2023, and wrote, “This co-headlining slot allowed him a slightly shorter than normal 65-minute set, but Cooper and band (led by the expertly shredding Nita Strauss) made the most of their time, working in familiar hits and routines (the Frankenstein monster, the straight jacket, the guillotine, the snakes, and more) he has become famous (or infamous) for.”
Diamante and
Starbenders to open.
We previously mentioned that Starbenders was one of the best looking band around, in
May 2022: “No doubt about it, this is one of the best looking band around. The Atlanta, GA band Starbenders is led by front-woman Kimi Shelter and her her gang of androgynous rockers ( Aaron Lecesne, Kriss Tokaji, Emily Moon). The group formed in 2013 and signed with Nico Constantine’s music label, Institution Records.”

Australian indie-folk groundbreakers
The Paper Kites make their way back to North America this February for the final leg of their tour in support of their latest acclaimed album,
At The Roadhouse. The tour stops in at the Fine Line, in Minneapolis, on March 16, 2024.
The Paper Kites (11 July 2016)
|
We saw the band in
July 2016 and noted, “The Paper Kites said they love, love playing Minneapolis. Their fanbase here is incredible, and they just love the audience (which were mostly young college-bound or college students). There is something hopelessly romantic about the Paper Kites’ songs that speaks to their fans. In fact, singer Sam Bentley said that they filmed two music videos in Minneapolis, which would make them “practically Minnesotans”.”
Boy Golden to open.

It’s finally happening. Welsh band
Mclusky will be at First Avenue this March 16, 2024. We’ve been waiting for them to return, since they had to announced their postponed tour
in 2022.
Last September, the group released a double A-side single, “Unpopular Parts Of A Pig/The Digger You Deep,” their first new music since 2005… and the music is a return to “the classic Mclusky sound here, defined largely by plenty of zippy guitar riffs and vocalist Andrew Falkous’ distinct sneer” as noted by Consequence.
Ganser to open.
