One thing that stood out about The Ledge Amphitheater when we walked through its gates was how new everything looked. An evening rain shower brightened the concourse. The wet cement still smelled new. Harvested blocks of granite, which hemmed the perimeter, provided natural seating for those waiting for friends who were in line at the merch table.
A security guard told me the venue was only four years old and could host close to six thousand. He said the amphitheater - just west of St. Cloud and between two quarries - had been so successful they were looking to add to the complex.

The reason for the name goes to English's outlook. As he explained to Audacy in an interview: “...a lot of all the Jagwar Twin stuff really is exploring light and dark and polarity and there's always a twin aspect to everything and also I'm a Gemini.”
Jagwar Twin took the opportunity to play their new song “Tomorrow (Angle of Eternity)” before finishing with the infectious “Happy Face” and “Bad Feeling (Oompa Loompa)” which brought the crowd to its feet.
Up next was Thirty Seconds to Mars, which started with an official NASA countdown at 90 seconds. Then it was pure rock and roll as white streamers were shot into the air.
Thirty Seconds to Mars is a band formed by brothers Jared and Shannon Leto. They may be one of the hardest working bands for they hold the Guinness World Record for most live shows in a single album cycle, clocking over 300 for their Into the Wild Tour.
Even though he is now over 50, Jared has not slowed down. To kick off the Seasons Tour, the academy award-winning actor scaled the Empire State Building. Already in its fourth month, the tour will run through the end of the year and take him and Shannon to parts of the world that most bands will never see. (Astana, Kazakhstan)
Closer to home there was quite the eclectic fan base at The Ledge. There were plenty of gray beards, lots of young kids, even a group of teenagers that were filming the whole show, singing every word to every song.
And Jared tried to interact with all of them.
In between the anthem-like “City of Angels” and the crowd favorite “Attack” Jared kept bringing fans onto the stage to dance, converse or act as a backdrop chorus. And when Jared wanted someone to sing the opening to “The Kill (Bury Me)” he picked a dad based on the dad’s T-shirt, which said “Diarrhea Planet.” So the dad gave it his all as his daughter stood next to him. And when he was done, Jared said, “You didn’t hit one note, but your passion is great!”
