The hottest band in the world right now is Sydney’s
Royel Otis (duo Otis Pavlovic and Royel Maddell), out on a world tour to support their debut album
PRATTS & PAIN (via OURNESS).
The band sold out the Amsterdam Bar & Hall, in St Paul, on Tuesday night, with many young and even old/retired fans coming out on a work night to get a glimpse of the band, thanks to their viral cover of “Murder on the Dancefloor” … which, of course, the band saved near the end of the set to play, to very happy fans on the dancefloor.
Royel Otis at First Ave (15 Sep 2024)

As I was making my way into the venues, there were certainly a number of fans outside the venue, trying to get in to the hottest ticket in town, and were turned away. My only advice to those fans is to buy a ticket to Royel Otis at First Avenue for September 15, 2024, when the duo returns back to the area. Even though the show is five months away, there’s already a strict four ticket limit to the show and “any attempt to exceed the ticket limit of 4 per customer or household, or to game the system in any way, will result in cancellation of orders without notice. There is a transfer delay for all tickets up to ONE MONTH prior to show.”
Australian band
Girl and Girl opened the show. The group was signed to Sub Pop (the label famous for signing Nirvana) and released their debut album
Call A Doctor.
The band seemed like a lot of fun, some songs sounds like it was lifted from “The Loop” (composed by Mark E. Nevin), but these are all good original songs by Girl and Girl. They ended their set with “All I See”, followed by “Strangers (Fight Night)”, which requires the audience to help sing the line, “
Yes, I will go out with Strangers.”
