We recently got in-depth with singer-songwriter Josh Berwanger about his new genre-crossing project Gemini Parks, and also got the chance to catch them live at their Record Release Party in downtown Lawrence, at The Replay Lounge.
The night turned out to be a full one, with support provided by Pale Tongue, Jackoffs, and Heat Seger and we were there to catch the madness and fun.
Pale Tongue is a Lawrence KS-based band playing so-called dungeon rock, on local label Manor Records, composed of Carlos Calderon – guitar/keys/vocals; Nick Fredrickson – drums; and Tanner Spreer – bass, and has a self-titled EP out now.
Jackoffs are a 3 1/2-piece punk band also from Lawrence, with members Jack Goodrich - Guitar, Vocals, Synth; Jack LaGue - Bass, Vocals; and Jacob Smith – Drums, and whose full-length, Prime Specimen came out just over a year ago.
Heat Seger is also local, perhaps transplanted from Chicagoland playing jangle rock and is fronted by “Pete” on rhythm guitar and vocals with Joe Montanaro (aka Joey Rubs) on lead guitar/vocals and bassist Brian Klein; drummer McKayla Brady, and percussionist Jake Cardwell.
