Polyphia Setlist

Opening the show was DOMi & JD Beck, a piano and drum duo, playing in front of fake plastic trees. They’re a weird jazz fusion band that don’t really take things that seriously. For example, for their finale, DOMi announced that the song was called “You Can Sniff My B***” … which could be the actual title to the shortened “SNiFF”? Or can you take them for word when they mentioned that they were playing Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” in D major? It certainly didn’t sound like “Stairway”.
What you can believe is that they were super excited to have worked with Thundercat (not the cartoon), for their song “NOT TiGHT.”
DOMI & JD Beck is still a very young band, it might be interesting to see them grow and mature on Anderson .Paak’s label, in partnership with the legendary jazz label Blue Note Records. They might be the future of jazz fusion.
Since forming in Plano, Texas in 2010, Polyphia have gained a massive following for their mixture of guitar riffs with hip-hop rhythms, bass-heavy trap music, and progressive metal & rock influences. They did start off as more or less an instrumental metal band, but have evolved since their second album Renaissance. They are mostly an instrumental band (read: no singers), with two guitarist Tim Henson & Scott LePage, bassist Clay Gober, and drummer Clay Aeschliman.
As you can see from the setlist, it was heavy-leaning on their latest album Remember That You Will Die. It is their highest charting album, landing at number 33 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart… possibly thanks to their numerous collaboration on the record, including $not, Chino Moreno (Deftones), Brasstracks, Sophia Black, Lil West, Killstation, Anomalie, and Steve Vai.
