South-London born, Atlanta-based multi-hyphenate Puma Blue (Jacob Allen) is on tour in support of his second album, Holy Waters (Blue Flowers).
Talking to Paste Magazine, Jacob talked about his song “Falling Down”, from the new album: “We were watching [90’s Japanese anime series] Cowboy Bebop in the studio and this dusty sound we made really came from those visuals. I wrote the lyrics during a challenging moment, feeling like my stomach was plummeting and struggling to get myself out of the depressing hole I’d fallen into. The song isn’t so much about picking yourself back up as it is about how it feels to fall in the first place.”

Montreal’s Half Moon Run is touring in support of their new album Salt. The tour will stop in at the Varsity Theater on November 10th.
We last saw Half Moon Run with Metric in September 2012 and said, “Opening up for them were fellow Canadians, Half Moon Run. As with these "theater-style" shows, the band started on time! Late comers, which accounted for a lot of the empty seats, missed out on this Fleet Fox-y/Radiohead-y sounding band. As I recall, they did a lot of songs from their album Dark Eyes, including "Full Circle" and "She Wants to Know" (which was the song that ended their very brief set.)”
UK-based singer songwriter Billie Marten to open.
