Vallis Alps Setlist

Opening the show was local Izek Rose, self-described as being from Ham Lakes. He had songs like “Monsters”, “Sweet”, and “So Young”. Some, if not most, were not released officially. Sometime he’s joined by a guitarist (or two), but mostly it is just Rose as a one-man-band.
Rose has played live before, but this was his first “First Avenue” show, at the 7th Street Entry. He seemed really happy and excited to be on stage, often very energetic and jumping around. By the time his final song, “Most Nights” was played, he was drenched in sweat.
Highlight of his set, was near the end, he discovered that his sister (and parents?) was at his show. They had driven down from Duluth, Minnesota, so this was a really special moment for Rose, who said that this was the first time they’ve all been together in the same room in a long time.
Although I previously said that Vallis Alps was from Sydney, the truth is, according to vocalist Parissa Tosif, that her music partner, producer David Ansari is currently in Los Angeles (previously Seattle). So perhaps it may be a rare moment to get the two back together again for a future tour… but for now, I still consider them as Australian.
Their first EP featured two hit singles, “Young” and “Thru”, which was played and supported on Triple J (the Australian national radio). By the end of the year of forming, the group was nomination for the J Award for Unearthed Artist of the Year in 2015.
With finally releasing their debut album Cleave in 2023 on The Orchard (six years after their sophomore EP), the band is finally back to promote the record. I think part of the long delay is due to COVID, which put things on pause for over two years, and, also as I mentioned Ansari relocated to Los Angeles. Still, it’s good to see the duo back in action, playing a very laid back, chill music from Cleave.
Remaining tour dates:
