This is a sold-out seated show for renowned musicians Vijay Iyer, Shahzad Ismaily, and Arooj Aftab, known as Love In Exile. Their self-titled debut album is out now. The album has been a fan favorite of the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NPR and the New York Times.
We previously saw Shahzad Ismaily with Marc Ribot’s Ceramic Dog in June 2023. He also played with Alan Sparhawk (of Low).
Vijay Iyer was mentioned when he played at the Newport Jazz Festival in 2022.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Reneé Rapp is touring in support of her debut album Snow Angel.
Alexander 23 is also listed on the poster. We previously saw Alexander 23 in Oct 2022 and wrote, “After “Somebody’s Nobody” Alexander removed a long-sleeve shirt to reveal a sleeveless T. Many cheered and some barked. “I’ve never been barked at,” he said, which guaranteed barking for the rest of the evening. Alexander’s sweet spot is singing about that tumultuous time of being a teenager, which he captured in “High School” with rolling cymbals, rising piano chords and a pointed falsetto voice.”

San Luis Obispo indie-rockers Próxima Parada, fresh off a hugely successful tour supporting Wild Child, will be headlining the 7th Street Entry this October 11th.
We previously saw them at the Wild Child show in Apr 2023 and wrote, “The band seemed jam friendly, with Nick Larson’s laid-back style and attitude, as they sing songs like “So Many Ways to Get Downtown” (a song inspired by Grandma Larson’s quote), and “Begin Again”. Highlight of their set was for (what I think was announced as) “Pray for Home”, in which near the end of the song, Larson told the story about how he dislocated his arm in tracks and ended up sitting on the sideline and meeting John from Wild Child. That’s how they met and wouldn’t you know it? John came on stage to help the band finish the song out.”
Olive Klug to open. We saw Klug in Apr 2023 and said, “Opening the show was Los Angeles, via Portland, queer singer/songwriter Olive Klug, playing songs from their debut album Don’t You Dare Make Me Jaded (available August 11th via Nettwerk). Even though the record haven’t been released, many of Klug’s fans already knew all the songs - often singing along loud and proud.”
