A hot, sweaty, and consistently energetic performance to kick off Gogol Bordello's tour in Kansas City at The Truman, with a nod of support to singer Eugene Hütz' homeland of Ukraine.
Opening act Puzzled Panther joined the headliners on stage for a number and the entire audience seemed breathless and perspiring but with smiles on their faces, after the two-hour performance.
More info to come, and we loved them so much, look for another report from their upcoming Minneapolis stop.

International punk band Gogol Bordello announces their US Summer Tour, set to kick off in Kansas City, MO on July 11 and finishing strong in Washington, DC at newly announced venue The Atlantis on August 5. The band recently performed for Rolling Stone, The Recording Academy’s Global Spin and WNYC’s Soundcheck, with Ukrainian frontman Eugene Hütz continuing to be a “flagbearer of the cultural resistance…as the one-year mark of the war in Ukraine approaches” (CBC Radio's The Sunday Magazine).
Since the band’s genesis in the Lower East Side punk-rock scene of 1999, Gogol Bordello has been riling up audiences with an inimitable patchwork of raucous punk and Eastern European Gypsy-swing.
Latest album Solidaritine takes them back to hardcore roots with a renewed sense of urgency, as Hütz explains: “Solidaritine is the substance that unlocks our empathy and our full human potential…May this be your punky uplift for our packed with troubled times.”
Hütz has also appeared in art house films such as Liev Schreiber’s Everything Is Illuminated with Elijah Wood and Filth and Wisdom helmed by Madonna. Gogol Bordello has lit up stages around the world alongside System of a Down, Primus, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, dueted with Regina Spektor and cut albums with legends Rick Rubin and Steve Albini. More collaborations to come.
