An all-age show sold out for the Claire Rosinkranz show at the Fine Line; a frozen line of concert goers waiting to get into the venue as a mother left the warm comfort of her parked SUV to offer her coat to her daughter who was hopping and jumping to fight off hypothermia. Some parents kept a little closer, staking claim to the tables that ringed the second tier of the venue with easy access to the bar.
It was a large crowd, an animated crowd, probably the most excitement I had seen for some time. The audience of mostly teenage girls even gave a roadie a round of applause, which caught him off guard, but then he leapt into the moment by taking a deep bow.
Sporting his own merch, mehro started off the evening with a brief set (four songs: Pirate Song, Can’t You Talk to Me, Whore and Chance with You.) On the scene since 2020 his music is introspective and would find a home in any coffee shop or cellar speakeasy where the acoustics of his guitar play and evocative voice would be fully appreciated. Even at the Fine Line he found a captive crowd that was quite disappointed when he started to thank everybody and wrapped up his set.
DWLLRS next took the stage to offer an upbeat vibe to get the crowd dancing. Made up of two college roommates, Bren Eissman and Joey Spurgeon, their sound was reflected their hometown of San Clemente, California with a laid-back surf-rock sound that at times pushed into other genres, sometimes even in the same song like Ice Coffee.
Sporting some nice turquoise rings, Eissman stated that this was the biggest crowd they had yet played in front of and jokingly asked the crowd to form a mosh pit for the ballad End of It All. Then he pulled out the ukulele while Spurgeon played a far-off luau for Blue Spirits. Then they finished the set with I Was Lost that had the crowd jumping and making the floor to feel more like a trampoline.
Claire Rosinkranz next took the stage with her band and promptly kept the dance party going with her Tik Tok hit Backyard Boy.

In between her viral hits she slid in some new songs from a soon to be released album and even medley The Cardigans’ Lovefool with her song Frankenstein. For the whole night she moved around the stage, dancing and sashaying as she ended the set with Swinging at the Stars with lyrics that may have encapsulated her current circumstance:
Where I’ll be, where I'll be
Take my time, take my time
Guess we’ll see
