GOG

My favorite gaming e-retailer,
GOG, is giving away their sixth, and final, free game giveaway in the next few days:
Daymare 1998.
I’ve been a big fan of GOG, or previously known as
Good Old Games, as they were the only company that sold their games DRM-Free, which means you can take your game anywhere, without restrictions. Unfortunately, big Triple A game companies, like
Sony and
Xbox will not allow their games to run without DRM… so, as a result, GOG was never a big hit with mainstream gamers.
Sure the free games like
Worms Revolution Gold Edition and
Broken Sword: Director's Cut, aren’t going to impress anyone… but they’re part of PC history and I’m happy to have them in my library.
PS, I have tried to run GOG on the
Steam Deck using the
Heroic launcher… but I can’t seem to get a game to run correctly on
Steam OS (which is based on
Linux). I wish GOG would make an effort to make an official launcher or something… I would love to run my GOG games on the Steam Deck.
Yours,
- Weekend Gamer
