Shame Setlist

Originally Tampa’s They Hate Change was supposed to open... but at the last minute, the production/rap duo had to cancel their appearance. Their vague social mediaposts suggests they caught something from a show in Los Angeles, “Peace to everybody that checked us in LA, it’s funny out here but y’all are sick”.
Instead, local sludgegaze band Another Heaven was asked to open the show. They played doom/sludge music from Another Heaven III: The Sorrowful Cries of Birds with Singed Feathers.
They recently released “Eternal” via Noise For Change ERA Benefit Compilation by Learning Curve Records.
After a cancellation of Rock the Garden in June 2018 and a false start in February 2022, Shame finally made it to Minneapolis. So Tuesday’s show was Shame’s first time in Minneapolis.
Singer Charlie Steen said, “It’s been so long since we’ve been to America, that we’ve already worked on our third album.” Green mentioned that they were going to play some of those future tracks on our set, which were well received.
Although their debut album Songs of Praise were, er, praised by critics, the album doesn’t really do the band justice. Seeing them in person, you will full appreciate the band. They are some of the most exciting band we’ve seen, full of youth and energy. Everything from their strange humor in their songs to Steen’s funky hand-pumping dancing to guitarist Josh Finerty running and jumping four feet in the air... this is a really fun band.
It is a “shame” that we didn’t see them at the much larger Rock the Garden, as that would’ve simply blown away the audience. Instead, let’s hope the English post band comes back to Minneapolis soon, when their third album is officially released.
Currently, Shame’s second album, Drunk Tank Pink is out now on Dead Oceans.
