“Why is the world in love again? Why are we walking hand-in-hand? Why are the ocean levels rising up? It's brand new record for 1990. They Might be Giants’ brand new album: Flood”
Two years in the making, the 30th Anniversary of Flood is finally making its way to Minneapolis, after announcing and rescheduling originally in July 2020 and June 2021. The show was long sold out for the last two years…
Flood is TMBG’s finest hour. Every song is wonderful, and the record does contain their hit single, “Birdhouse in Your Soul”. Expect a sing along…. to every song.

Blood Red Shoes
with Mz Neon
at Fine Line

Brighton’s is back on tour, stopping by the Fine Line Music Cafe on October 14th.
We last saw the band in Oct 2018 and wrote, “Brighton’s Blood Red Shoes opened the show, the stage completely lit in a deep green (which remained unchanged throughout their entire set), possibly due to the fact that the artwork for their forthcoming 2019 album Get Tragic is also in the same green tone. They didn’t play any of those 2019 songs, it’s really not the time to start promoting those singles, but instead concentrated on their various hit singles.”
New York’s Mz Neon to open. She recently released her new single “Pussy Stick” along with a dynamic and oh so Neon-esque video. “I just wanted to rap about authentic situations, stories, and concepts that I’ve experienced; juxtaposed with conceptualized storytelling based on life experiences, quantum realities and spiritual revelations…there’s a lot of esoteric references throughout, some more obvious than others,” says Mz Neon.

Boyfriend
at 7th St Entry

New Orleans’ Boyfriend has a debut album called Sugar & Spice.
She continues, “For years I’ve been focusing on my live show, that was the medium where my thesis felt complete. I’ve been writing for others, navigating the industry as an entirely independent being, releasing singles & bite sized glimpses into my chest. This album is me finally offering a feast, not on a stage but in pockets and bedrooms, wherever folks may sit down to listen, I hope they leave the table knowing I’m their Boyfriend.”
We caught Boyfriend in Nov 2015 and wrote, “As if Big Freedia wasn't enough amusement for one night, Boyfriend was opening for her. Boyfriend is a female rapper from New Orleans (also home to Big Freedia), and not to be confused with the Korean pop group also called Boyfriend. Boyfriend was nothing short of entertaining to watch. Boyfriend was joined onstage by two local scantily clad burlesque dancers. Boyfriend's lyrics are vivid and inappropriate but also honest.”
