St Paul’s RiGBY opened the show. The relatively new (formed during the pandemic in 2019) four piece band features Fay Dunkel on guitars, Kean Wilwerding on drums, Maude Lorr on bass/vocals, and Hana Mahli on additional bass and vocals. They played almost everything off their new album, We’re Dying… but adding in an unreleased song, which they wrote on their setlist as “Hammer!”
If you’re a fan of Bikini Kill or any 90s riot grrl bands (like we are), you’ll find a lot to like in RiGBY.
RiGBY’s debut album, We’re Dying, is out now.
British alternative rock band The Mysterines took the stage, playing their entire debut Reeling (Fiction Records).
Just to give you a little background, the group is barely out of their teens when they were selected as one of Amazon Music UK’s Ones To Watch 2022. They previously supported Royal Blood, The Amazons and Sea Girls, as well as headlined the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading and Leeds.
You started hearing about the band on all the major British press, including BBC Radio One, NME, Independent, Metro, MOJO, etc.
The 7th Street Entry’s dancefloor was filled with British music fans, who were eager to check out the latest buzz-worthy band from England. And the group did not disappoint as they launched into “The Bad Thing”, as fans clapped and cheered.
The band is still very new and, this being their very first visit to America, I’m certain the group will want to come back again when they release a sophomore album.
The Mysterines’ debut album Reeling is out now on Fiction Records.
